Stuck on Starting Screen / Retrieving Remote Settings (We Were Here Expeditions)

If you are stuck at loading the starting screen or if you can't get past the "retrieving remote settings" message when trying to launch We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip, we recommend you to go over all the solutions below.

• Unplug all unnecessary and/or unsupported USB devices
• Reinstall the game
• Make sure you're not using a public network. You could try switching networks (for example your phone's hotspot) to test if this issue is network-related.

• Make sure your PC meets the minimum requirements to play and that you're not using an integrated graphics card
• Update your drivers
• Double check if your system's time is set correctly to match your timezone
• Disable any overlays
• Disable drivers that may interfere (network limiters, emulators)
• Turn off Steam Cloud Sync
• Verify your Steam / Epic integrity files
• Launch the game as administrator
• If you have played the game before and are unable to continue this session, you're going to have to delete your cloud save. 
  Steam doesn't offer a possibility for this, but one of our developers has created a small tool for this. Don't worry, this will not delete your progression, only some settings in the menu will have to get applied again.

2. Extract the .zip file and launch the .exe file.
3. You'll have to enter the the following number for your corresponding game and then you can delete your saves:
   1. 2296990 (for The FriendShip)
   2. 1341290 (for We Were Here Forever)
   3. 865360 (for We Were Here Together)
   4. 677160 (for We Were Here Too)
   5. 582500 (for We Were Here)

For Epic users:

1. Exit the Game.
2. Open your Windows Credential Manager.
3. Delete the Epic Entry, it should start with EOS.
4. Open the game.

For The FriendShip: Delete the “lib_burst_generated.dll” file, which you can find in your Steam / Epic installation folder in:
We Were Here Expeditions - The Friendship\We Were Here Expeditions The Friendship_Data\Plugins\x86_64
