If you are stuck at loading the starting screen or if you can't get past the "retrieving remote settings" message when trying to launch We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip on Xbox, please check the solutions below.
- Unplug all unnecessary and/or unsupported USB devices
- Reinstall the game
- Make sure you're not using a public network. You could try switching networks (for example your phone's hotspot) to test if this issue is network-related.
- Delete your local save file and your cloud save file
- Update your console and controller
- Reset your key binds to default in your console settings
- Make sure you have a subscription to be able to play online games on your console and that all options for online multiplayer are enabled in your settings
