If you're experiencing bugs or issues when trying to play We Were Here Tomorrow, please read through this document with known issues and possible solutions and workarounds first.
We’re doing our best to stay on top of all critical and game-breaking bugs, while documenting other issues, investigating and reproducing them, and working to resolve them as quickly as possible in upcoming patches.
➡️ If you experience issues, please try all possible solutions in articles that describe your issue or sound similar to your issue on this support website. These solutions usually fix (most) problems for our players.
We will share and update an additional list of known issues and possible (temporary) workarounds for We Were Here Tomorrow in this article.
Known Issues
⚠️ Important! If you get softlocked or experience a gamebreaking bug, you can reload the checkpoint by going to the main menu > change > click on start new journey > manually let the host of your game re-select your last checkpoint.
The following issues are known and will be addressed in an upcoming patch:
Start-Up
- If you experience a black screen at start-up, please go to this article and follow the solutions. Usually this issue is related to Windows Media Packs or to your GPU specs.
General
- General lighting issues in a few areas in the game.
- Walking over a gravity plated halfpipe/arch may cause camera stuttering.
- Some decorative objects are missing collision.
- Under rare circumstances is an achievement in the “Routing Power” checkpoint not properly awarded to players.
Visual Bugs
- The “empty hand icon” may sometimes disappear from your inventory.
- Held items may disappear if a player uses an emote at the same time as placing an item into a slot. If this occurs, please reload from the last checkpoint to progress.
- Partners can sometimes be invisible when looking through certain VFX.
- Player character's torso rotates too far when you turn the camera left or right.
- Some decorative objects may not render properly or unexpectedly re-appear.
Sound & Voice
- The volume of certain sounds, effects and voice lines may be too low.
- Audio input settings are not always saved when leaving the settings menu.
- Some voice lines may have missing on-screen subtitles.
- The timing of some subtitles can be mismatched, especially when the subtitles and spoken languages are not set to the same language.
Gameplay
- Crouching while shrinking can cause a game breaking bug. Players won't be able to grow back to the normal size again. If this occurs, please reload from the last checkpoint to progress.
- Climbing may be inconsistent in some areas, but should never block progression. Players can try to climb on different sides of platforms, blocks and terrain.
- Jumping onto certain plants in Chapter 6 may cause the player to get stuck in collision. This should trigger a respawn, otherwise please reload from the last checkpoint to progress.
- There is a very rare chance for a gravity plate in the checkpoint “The Magnetic Stabilize”’ to stop working.
- There is a rare chance to collide with an invisible object in the checkpoint “The Gravitonics Department“
- There is an issue with certain elevators where players with higher than usual ping can exit the elevator before the doors lock. If this occurs, please reload from the last checkpoint to progress.
- There is an issue when jumping in certain elevators while in motion.
- Players may skip over a mission-critical item in the checkpoint ‘Corporate Espionage’. Progress is blocked until the item is collected.
- There is an issue with certain player-movable objects, when pushed in a certain way the player may clip through the terrain and get stuck.
Feature not Bug
- Most challenges will include more than one way to solve or reach a point, e.g. you can reach a platform by using your tools, by climbing and jumping, or by solving a small challenge to create a platform.
- You need to stand in front of “temporal anomalies” to be able to interact with them.
- Sometimes you can't climb your stack of ‘Goop blocks’ from one side, this may happen if there is not enough space between your character and that side of the stack. If you try another side it should work.
- You can hear each other when being in close proximity to each other, the walkie-talkies will automatically appear on-screen when you are out of hearing range.
